Annual hockey club dinner 2012 The annual men and ladies hockey dinner dance was this year held at the Hallmark Hotel, Midland Road, Derby on Friday 13th April. With over 100 in attendance it was a great end of season evening of celebrations and awards with thanks to the organisers Nick and Wendy Morris. Click here to view Belper Men's Hockey Club awards... U16 Boys on Easter tour to Volkenswaard, Holland Following their successful season the Belper Boys U16's team went on tour to Volkenswaard in Holland during Easter. Day 1: “U16s are rolling: rain sleet snow high winds stand between us and Hull Docks gateway to Holland!”. Keep in touch via their Twitter account: http://twitter.com/#!/BelperHCJnrBoys U18 Boys win EH Plate Competition The U18 boys won the England Hockey National Plate Competition on Saturday 31st March, held at Oxford Hawkes, a tremendous achievement for all players, coaching staff and supporters! Click here for details... U16 Boys runners up in National Championships The U16 boys unfortunately lost to Old Loughtonians in the final of the EH National Championships on Sunday 1st April. However, this is a fantastic result in this national competition - second best team in the country! Report to follow... U12 boys reach semi-finals at Regional Finals This was an excellent performance by the Belper U12 boys team who travelled to Rugby School on 1st April to do battle at this year's regional finals. Men 1XI maintain good form to the end Belper Men 1XI completed their season with a 3-3 draw at home to Doncaster on Sunday afternoon leaving them seventh in the England Hockey National League Conference North Division. Captain Richard Kitchen had the last word saying “It’s been a privilege to lead these guys this season, they have never let me down or given me less than I have asked for at any stage. I have been immensely proud to have been their captain this season”. Third successive win ends season for Ladies 1XI Belper Ladies 1XI completed their Midland League Premier Division campaign with a third successive win with a 2-0 victory against relegated Worcester at the Meadows on Saturday. This was always going to be a tricky season following last years relegation from the national league but much credit must go to coach Wayne Madsen, captain Sally Walton and all of the Belper players as they finish seventh in the league.
