Boys hockey coach urgently needed
The Ecclesbourne School in Duffield has entered an U16 boys team in the England Hockey Schools Competition. The school is not a hockey school but entered the team in part based on the hockey playing talent in this age group (all of whom play for Belper HC); and partly based on a coach from Belper HC assisting with some prep before their competition. Due to unforeseen circumstances the coach has had to pull out. So the playing talent remains, the desire remains to enter the cup - but they are now lacking a coach for a few sessions in January. Is any one from the club able to help and prepared to give up 1.5 hrs of an evening to assist the boys? For more details please contact Jason Franklin jason.franklin151@rocketmail.com

U16 boys qualify for finals
Despite being under-strength due to availability and injury problems Belper U16 Boys drew 1-1 with Cannock and won 11-0 against West Bridgford in the EH Championships on Sunday at Lichfield. This will make them top of the Midlands 2 League and earn a place in the Regional finals in March.
