LATEST NEWS - Monday 26th July, 2010 Meeting of hockey club members about the future of Belper Hockey Club’s, Friday 30th July. Members of both Belper Men’s and Ladies Hockey Club’s are invited to an open discussion on the future of the Belper Hockey Club’s. We are aware that many members are on holiday, and there is probably never a good time, however – both Sue Waterall (Chairperson of Belper Ladies) and Roger Carter (Chair of Belper Men’s) feel it is important to meet and discuss strategic matters, as soon as possible. To that end – we have reserved a room at The Lion Hotel, Belper, on Friday night, 30th July, at 8pm. All Hockey Section Members are welcome. Roger Carter, Sue Waterall. Belper Men's committee meeting - 4th August A Belper Men's Hockey Club committee meeting has been arranged for Wednesday 4th August in the clubhouse, 8pm start. All committee members are urged to attend to put in place arrangements for the forthcoming season. Hockey Camp - August 2010 - final few places! Belper Hockey Club are pleased to announce their third 'Summer Hockey Camp' Monday 9th – Friday 13th August 2010 designed for boys and girls between the ages of 8 to 14. This year Ben Lamb (Men 1XI coach) is joined by James Blackwell (Men 1XI and England). The aim will be for the children of all abilities to learn specialist skills of the game and to continue to develop their core skills, such as hitting, stopping, passing and moving. The camp will again include the 'Young Leaders Course'. Numbers are up from last year and as a result the camp has ONLY A FEW places left! Click here for details... Nine players in international squads A total of 9 Belper players have been selected for international training squads for a series of summer international matches and tournaments. Click here for details... Belper Junior Boys fitness training The Junior Boys Section will be running pre-season fitness training, for the first time, throughout August at Eyes Meadow, Duffield. Douggie Campbell and Joe Sharp Whilst many of us are enjoying a few weeks away from hockey both Douggie Cambell (Sctoland U18's) and Joe Sharp (England U16's) are training hard for summer international junior games. Both have been on the score sheet in recent games and we wish them well for further games in the next few weeks. Graham Joyce is appointed Men 1XI coach Belper Hockey Club are delighted to announce Graham Joyce as their new Men 1XI Coach for the 2010/2011 season. Graham returns to the club for his second spell after previously working as 1XI Assistant Coach back in 2009. Graham commences his new role with immediate effect and along with 1XI Manager & Club Coach, Ben Lamb, has set about putting together the 1XI programme for the Summer. Click here for details... Volunteers needed for Mini Hockey next season One of the successes which Belper HC have enjoyed over the years is the commitment and dedication of the coaches and managers who give their time freely to the children who attend mini hockey.
