Welcome to Belper Ladies Hockey Club
Belper Ladies Hockey Club was established in 1920 and has grown into one of the most successful clubs in the Midlands. Our junior achievements are without parallel in the country. At present we have six senior teams competing in National, Regional and County leagues. Whatever your ambitions you will be able to realise them at Belper. We are a friendly club with a great ‘family atmosphere’ and enjoy strong links with the men’s club.
The success of our first team in the Slazenger National League is testament to the many strengths of the club. Last season we just missed out on a play-off place, finishing third in the England Hockey League Women's National North Division. Our second team is also ambitious and is hoping to secure promotion to the Midlands Division One in 2007/2008. Our remaining four teams play in the Derbyshire County League. At present we have one adult and one youth team in each of the two divisions.
Whatever your standard, we will be able to offer you a level of hockey which you will find enjoyable. We have excellent coaches and run weekly training sessions for all including a fast- track group for talented juniors. We achieved England Hockey’s Clubmark accreditation in 2004 which recognises that we provide a safe, effective and child friendly hockey environment for young people.
We are justifiably proud of our junior’s record in national competitions and in 2007 we won three national titles, most notably the U15 Cup for the 4th successive year.
We are always looking to improve our squads and welcome players of all standards and ages. If you would like to be part of our success as a player, umpire or coach and help to build on our achievements then please contact:
