Welcome to Belper Ladies Hockey Club

Belper Ladies Hockey Club was established in 1920 and has grown in to one of the most successful clubs in the Midlands and our junior achievements at club through to national level keep us at the forefront of junior hockey on the country.
We presently have 5 senior teams who compete in National, Midlands and Derbyshire leagues, but we also compete in cup competitions at senior and junior levels. All levels of players are catered for at Belper whether you have ambitions to play at national level or just want to play for fitness and fun. We have excellent qualified coaches and run weekly training sessions, including fast-track session for talented juniors.

At the end of last season, our first team who play in Slazenger National Women’s Conference North league finished a commendable 3rd and will play in the same league this season. The 2nd team finished 7th in Midlands Division 2 and remain in this league for the coming season. Our remaining 3 teams played in the Derbyshire league. Unfortunately, the 4th team finished bottom of Division 2 and Otters, the development team, finished mid table in Division 3. But congratulations must go to the Badgers team who won Derbyshire Division 1 league and will now represent the club as the 3rd team in the Midlands Feeder League North. In National competitions the U18 Indoor Team won this title for the second year in a row, and in outdoor competitions the U18 team won this title for the 4th year in succession. We are justifiably proud of our junior players achievements in national competitions.

All this takes place on our water based astro pitch at Belper Meadows Sports Club in Belper. Our Clubmark status was re-accredited in 2008, which recognises that we provide a safe and child friendly environment for young people. If you would like to be part of our success as a player, coach or umpire and help us build on our achievements then please contact us.

I wish players, coaches, managers and supporters a successful and enjoyable forthcoming season.
