‘New Pavilion : Celebration Match’

To celebrate the completion of the new multi-sport pavilion, a hockey match was played between the Belper mens hockey President’s XI and the North of England XI, on Sunday 2 September. “#itsnever2L8 Exin Master World Cup Barcelona 2018”

In July 2018 the biennial Masters Hockey World Cup was held again, this time hosted by Spain in Terrassa, Barcelona. Teams in age groups of over 35s to over 75s were invited and more than 25 countries participated. Ron Haspel – Funeral details (16th Aug)

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Ron Haspel passed away on 26th July, after a short illness. He was an exceptional character, stalwart of the club and epitomised everything we all love about the game. Belper Representation in England O70s & O75s at World Cup

Congratulations to Mike Christie who has been representing England Over 70s at the World Cup in Barcelona in July. The team won the tournament after finishing 2-2 against Australia in the Final. England came out winners after penalty shuffles. Belper was also represented in the England Over 75 hockey team playing in the Grand Masters World Cup in Barcelona.  Allan Sutton was the regular left back throughout the tournament.  England finished with the silver medals.  The gold Read more…

Midlands Academies U14G Tournament

Five Belper Under 14 girls were selected by Derbyshire to represent their county at the final tournament of the season-the Midlands championship.  After playing all the counties from the Midlands region including Shropshire, Northants, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire through the season a final squad of 15 players was selected to represent Derbyshire at the tournament held at Ratcliffe College in Leicestershire.  The five Belper Nailers players were selected from a group of fifty originally and made Read more…

U12 Girls & Boys placed 5th & 9th in Regional In2H Tournaments

U12 GIRLS The U12 girls competed against the best 16 teams in the Midlands and finished 5th. A massive thank you to Gullivers Theme Parks for sponsoring  the girls goals today to raise money for the clubhouse.The girls scored 10 goals and raised a massive £750.00.   Well-done for not just today, but for the whole of the season. In2Hockey Competition Raises £461

Held on on Sunday 11 March, the under 10 girls event was won by Belper, with Repton being runner-up. In the other sections (ie under 10 boys and both under 12s) the placings were reversed. Accordingly the Belper and Repton teams progress to the Regional competition.
