Badgers Hockey Objective

The main objective of the ‘badgers’ is to establish a structure which provides participating players with an enjoyable game of Hockey and introduce and re-inforce some of the more traditional aspects of the game such as playing at reasonably sociable times and enjoying post match refreshments with the opposition and umpires. It is a transition or development between 7 a side and 11 a side hockey for U16 players. 

What age of the junior players playing Badgers?  

Age 11-13 (start school years 7 and 8) and above.

Boys or Girls?

Both.  Badgers is designed for young U16 player new to 11-a-side and is equally applicable for transitioning to Ladies and Men's Hockey. 

Is there a min/max age for the teams? 

8 or 9  U16 in the pitch and they ideally should be new to 11-a-side hockey +  2 or 3 ‘adults’ but these 3 players could also include experienced u16 too. The mix is not rigid and can be all U16 if the team is strong or experienced at Badgers.
