England beat Wales 5-0, defeated Ireland 4-1 and came back from 3-0 down to beat Scotland 5-4 to take the trophy in preparation for the Masters World Cup in August.

The holders produced a dominant display against Wales, though victory was marred by a serious knee injury to a key midfielder.

England trailed Ireland 1-0 at half-time but goals from Brad Apted (2), Tim Wood and Morris set up a tense final in front of a partisan crowd.

Within 15 minutes, Scotland had scored three goals from their first three attacks and England looked down for the count but they soon settled into their game.

Morris netted England’s first, a tricky shot on the turn, before seeing his side add another before the break.

They were level just after the interval, Morris turning the keeper and firing home his second before he completed his hat-trick from close range. He then added his fourth with a great finish into the bottom corner.

“We learnt a lot about the squad as we prepare for the World Cup in August,” said Morris. “We have a number of training games over the next few weeks and can hopefully work on all the things we need to improve on for the tests to come.”
