Tickets Available from Junior Team Managers and Ladies Team Captains

For those who may be new to the race night game, the format of the event goes a little like this.

In the lead up to the night, horses will be on sale from Paula Cahill [email protected] and a total of eight races will be available to sponsor.

To ‘own’ a horse costs £2 and you can also ‘sponsor’ a race. On the evening itself nine races will take place, although the horses won’t be galloping through the lounge as that would be frowned upon by the hall!

As a more animal friendly alternative, pre-filmed races chosen at random will be screened. Before each race the opportunity is offered to ‘bet’ on any of the competing horses. Each ‘bet’ placed receives a ticket and multiple ‘bets’ on any horse can be made. Indeed, ‘bets’ on more than one horse in any one race can be placed if so desired. After the race has taken place, the bookies pay out on the winning horse and the winning ‘owner’ receives a prize too. During the evening some horses will go under the hammer and be sold to the highest bidder before ‘betting’ takes place as normal.
