Alex Robey represented Mercia Lynx at the 3 day U17 HiPAC at Leeds University.

The HiPAC aims to give players in the U15 and U17 age groups first-hand experience of an international training camp environment, in preparation for potential future involvement in a National Age Group Squad (NAGS).

Dominic Bennett (U16), Jacob Bullock, Toby Hooker, Ellie Miles and Kathryn Lane (all U18) have been taking part in the Futures Cup Tournaments at Cannock Hockey Club.

The England Hockey Board Futures Cup is a competition represents the culmination of the national Junior Regional Performance Centre (JRPC) activity. The EHFC is for players from all over the country, in the U16 and U18 age groups, who are selected for squads from JRPC Tier 1 activity. 

 The EHFC aims to give players in the U16 and U18 age groups first-hand experience of an international tournament environment, in preparation for potential future involvement in a National Age Group Squad (NAGS).

Over 3 days, Dom helped the Mercia Lynx U16 Boys squad secure top spot in the U16 League, beating Saxon Tigers 6-2 (Dom scoring the penultimate goal), Wessex Leopards 2-0, and Pennine Pumas 1-0.

Kathryn and Ellie played for Mercia Lynx U18 Girls, and Jacob and Toby for the Mercia Lynx U18 Boys over 4 days of competition. These four youngsters have come all the way through the hockey system at Belper, starting at Mini Hockey, progressing through the Junior ranks and on to play at senior level. Kathryn is already a seasoned international player.

The Lynx U18 Girls lost to Saxon Tigers 6-1 on the first day of the tournament, but then beat Wessex Leopards 3-1 (Kathryn scoring the last goal), and Pennine Pumas 2-0, earning a place in the final against the Tigers. The final was a close fought game with the Tigers coming out on top, winning 3-2.

The Lynx U18 Boys also lost to Saxon Tigers on the first day, 4-1, then beat Wessex Leopards 3-1 (Jacob scoring the first goal after 3 mins), and Pennine Pumas 2-0, earning a place in the final against Saxon Tigers! Tigers again came out on top winning 3-1.
