On Sunday, 21 Sept, the Belper U16 girls played the first of this season’s EHB matches.
They played with great team work, a lot of commitment and lovely skills.
Belper V Leicester 3-1 WIN
Leicester, as ever, were strong opposition with some particularly skilful players. Belper made a strong start with some great passing and structure, while Leicester took time to develop their play. Belper then held onto their lead to gain a decisive victory.
Belper V Rugby & East Warwickshire 7-1 WIN
The U16 girls had never played Rugby & EW before so they were an unknown opposition. Their style of play was quite different to ours which led Belper to initially lose their structure and the half time score was 1-1. However in the 2nd half Belper regrouped and reverted to their earlier successful shape and teamwork, which resulted in a satisfying 7-1 win, particularly helped by 4 blistering goals from Hannah Davey.
