Following a fine meal, a few glasses of orange juice, and of course, ‘Heads n Tails’, speeches were inevitable….

In Laura’s absence, Kath Hoult sumarised the Ladies season. The 1st team finished mid table in the National League – the first team to survive their first season in the last 5 years. The 2nds won their league and have gained promotion to Division 2. The 3rds 4ths and 5ths still have not yet finished their season, but 3rds will finish in the top 4 of Derbyshire  Div 1, and 4ths mid table in Derbyshire Div 2, having struggled without a goalkeeper for the majority of the season. The 5ths had to concede most of their league games due to insufficient players, but played their matches as friendlies introducing younger players to the adult game. Many thanks to Chris for keeping the team going.

Ladies Club awards were presented:

Mrs Bs Club Person of the year award has been renamed The Irene Bestwick Trophy in her memory and was presented to Will Howarth.

A new award is to be created in memory of Joanne Rogers, for support to the Junior section. This will be awarded for the first time next year.

Steve Mills gave a brief review of the Mens Club season, the highlight being the 1st team consolidating and finishing in a strong 4th place in Midlands Prem after relegation last season. 4th team finished mid table, but others weren’t so fortunate. 7th team had to concede a number of games due to insufficient players.

Club awards were presented as follows:

Junior Player of the year: Sean Cave

Clubman of the Year: Robin Peach

Special award for his efforts promoting the social side of hockey: Toni Nadolski

Simon Emlsey proposed a toast to Paul (Lozza) Lawrence. We are all thinking of him in his fight against a brain tumour.
