Two Belper players were once again called up for International duties this August at the IMHA European Cup tournament in Tilburg, Holland. Monica Jones-Knowles (Wales) and Nick Morris (England O45s) both travelled to The Netherlands for the 10 day competition.

As usual, standards were high and the competition fierce. The venue and facilities at the Tilburg Club provide a fantastic setting to showcase what hockey can achieve.

England O45s performed strongly in the tournament, comfortably beating France, Wales, Ireland, Germany and Spain to reach the final. Unfortunately, despite a hard fought game, The Netherlands team ultimately had the upper hand in the final and England had to settle for the silver medal.

Monica demonstrated her superior skills for Wales, saving 4 out 5 penalty shuffles in one game, but didn’t manage to make the medals table this time.

Both players are hoping to be selected next summer for the Masters World Cup in Barcelona, Spain.
