Congratulations to Mike Christie who has been representing England Over 70s at the World Cup in Barcelona in July. The team won the tournament after finishing 2-2 against Australia in the Final. England came out winners after penalty shuffles.
Belper was also represented in the England Over 75 hockey team playing in the Grand Masters World Cup in Barcelona.
Allan Sutton was the regular left back throughout the tournament. England finished with the silver medals. The gold medals went to Australia and the bronze to Holland. There was very little difference between the three teams with each losing games, but Australia just scraped through to win.
