The length of the access road from the A6 to Belper Meadows

Community Sports Club (BMCSC) land will be ripped up and tarmaced

over the week commencing 3rd Feb 2020. The work will start on Monday 3 February and is

planned to be completed by the end of the week. The works will be

during the working day – i.e. there will be no vehicular access

to our ground during the day.

NOTE ! The tarmac is likely to be laid on Wednesday or Thursday.

In order to let it harden, and so that there is no damage / rutting

from vehicle tyres, the roadway will be barred from traffic on

Wednesday or Thursday evening. This will affect people going to

hockey training.

Public car parking is available at the East Mill, Bridge St, and

Field Lane. After 6pm the charge is 60p. Attention to car sharing

will make things easier.

You may ask why are we spending money on the road when the club’s

finances are so tight with demands from elsewhere. The answer is

that it needed to be done at some time, and right now we have the

opportunity of a good price as the Football Club are doing their

portion at the same time – the strip from the A6 down the side of

the Church is BMCSC responsibility. Please do observe the road

closed signs so that our investment is not ruined by cars driving

on the tarmac before it has fully set.

Please cascade this information to everybody who will be

affected.
