Update 13 July 2020: Following review we have agreed that we can now allow more than one group to go on half the pitch however, as there has been no further update from England Hockey the groups are still limited to 1:5 on each quarter of the pitch.

Sessions still need to be run in accordance with all the Terms and Conditions and clear records need to be maintained of who attends each session and a reminder, the sanitizer is not there for show and must be used as players enter the pitch area!

In addition, the pitch is now available for club squads to book for training but must maintain the 1:5 ratio and whoever makes the booking will be responsible to ensure that all participants have read the Terms and Conditions and Return to Hockey Guidance etc. It goes without saying that if U18’s are present you must ensure that all Safeguarding Procedures are met.

If required we have also agreed that individuals and families who are members of the club can also book a quarter of the pitch at a cost of £10 per hour (inc VAT and not including lights), this figure is commensurate with the current rates and will be known as the ‘Covid Rate’ and will be in in place until the 1st September. Please ensure that you book the pitch with me beforehand, do not assume the pitch is always free!

The matter of the toilets remains ongoing but we will inform you should the position change but for the moment they are still out of bounds.

The management will review the position again when EH issue their next update, whenever that is.

Any problems, please get in touch.

Following the recent meeting the Directors and Management of the astro have agreed a cautious re-opening of the pitch w/c the 6th July.

To begin with the whole pitch will be divided into two which will allow 2 x 1:5 coaching sessions to take place with time between sessions to allow players to leave the pitch safely before others arrive.

There will be a review on the 13th July to consider opening it up further but only if the Directors and Management are satisfied the restrictions of the site allow it to be operated safely.

In the first instance it can only be booked for formal coaching sessions but, providing all goes well, this may be extended to squads and families as we progress out of lockdown measures.

As usual booking will be need to be done direct with me and those wishing to book will have to sign the new Terms and Conditions and accept the approved Return to Hockey Guidance which can be found below.

(These documents will be subject to review  as government and EH guidance develops)

We feel it is important that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities and that we are able to provide a tracing system* should anyone attending a booking contract Covid or have symptoms.
