We are planning to make some further alterations to the kitchen and storeroom this summer, to make it easier to serve food and drink at the same time. The current kitchen and storeroom will become a single space by removing part of the dividing wall, and creating a second servery hatch opening into the “Tennis” end.

BMCSC volunteers, which of course includes Hockey members, will be doing the emptying of cupboards etc, stripping out, removing of plasterboard. A professional joiner will then fit new worktops, base units and make the hatch surround. BMCSC volunteers will follow up by doing the painting, clearing up and otherwise making good.

Preparatory work will be throughout June and July. Stripping out 1st Aug. Professional Joiner 9 & 10th August. Making good paint etc., cleaning 11th August onwards. If you can give an hour or two of your time to assist with this project,  please click on this link volunteersignup.org/9YPCA to see a list of tasks where we need volunteers.

To facilitate this as many surplus items as possible will be scrapped out of the kitchen, storeroom, fridges and freezers. Any items in these areas after Monday 17th June will be assumed to be the property of BMCSC and, as such, will be disposed in the interests of food hygiene, making space and ease of cleaning. We will also run down some less popular bar stocks for the same reason – if this is a problem contact Judy on  [email protected]

The Clubroom and kitchen will be available until 1st August, but obviously there will be some disarray as we carry out preparatory works. Sorry for the disruption but omelettes and eggs etc. If you see a problem here, please contact me on email [email protected]
