Bringing the hockey family at Belper, Leeds Uni, his friends and his family together to remember him.
We are hosting a Club Day for Owen on 6th September, and everyone is welcome to come and play!
The day will be a heartfelt opportunity for the Belper Hockey family, the Leeds Uni Hockey family and the wider hockey community to come together with Owen’s friends and family to remember him with love, celebrate his life and honour the lasting impact he has left on all who knew him. #BeMoreO
Schedule for the day:-
9.00am – 11.30am : Mini Hoc will be on the pitch – a great start to the season!
11.30am – 1.00pm : Social Hockey – any player, who is over 13, is welcome to turn up for 7 aside on both sides of the pitch, the same format as Summer Social Hockey! A Google form will be sent out so we can gauge numbers. Mike Dawson has agreed to run this part of the day, thanks Mike!
BBQ from 1pm – and cake… lots of cake!
1.00pm : Formal Opening of the new dugouts
1.30pm – 3.00pm : Invitational Belper Mens 1st team v Leeds Uni 1st Team – featuring many of Owen’s teammates on both sides!
The first two quarters will be played by the existing Belper 1st Team, with the second two quarters becoming an invitational game involving Owen’s former Belper teammates. As a mark of respect, there will be a minute’s applause ahead of the game.

We would really appreciate any help you can offer on the day, whether that is helping in the kitchen, behind the bar, on the barbecue or with anything else that needs doing. Even an hour of your time would be greatly appreciated.
We would also be very grateful for cake donations to keep Owen’s teammates fuelled throughout the day!
Most importantly, we hope as many of you as possible can join us to remember Owen, celebrate his life and enjoy a day together with the hockey family of which he was such an important part.
