Based in Belper just off the A6, Belper Hockey Club forms part of a multi sports complex that includes Tennis, Cricket, Bowls, and Hockey. Our venue includes a water based pitch with dugouts, a spectator area and a scoreboard, fully equipped changing rooms, a bar area for socialising, hot/cold drinks and a balcony to watch the games from!

Rykneld Sports Centre is a venue where we play the occasional game when our main pitch is fully booked. Only a few minutes drive from our main venue, Rykneld Sports Centre provides changing facilities and parking.
Founded in 1908, our club has been at the heart of hockey for generations in Belper, offering opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
We currently run seven Men’s adult teams and six Ladies adult teams, with our Ladies 1st XI competing in the Midlands Premier League and our Men’s 1st XI competing in the Midlands Division 1 league for the 2026/27 season.

Kike Suarez
Men’s & Junior Development Head Coach — FIH Level 4
Kike joins us this season with a huge depth of experience and accolades ranging from playing in the top leagues in Spain for 21 years through to head coach of Spanish national team U16s for 8 years and coaching roles across Spain, Germany, Scotland, France and Switzerland.

Simon Law
Ladies’ Head Coach — FIH Level 3 & ACP
Simon returns for a second season as a full-time hockey coach who will also be coaching at the University of Nottingham, Derbyshire, and Burton Hockey Club.
“I am honoured to be back for another season. My background is in University sport, North/Midlands Prem. I am looking forward to supporting the club and 1st team with its ambitions in the Midlands Prem.”
