Umpire Development seminar – Sunday 11th August at Belper HC

This seminar is aimed at people, over 14 years of age with some previous umpiring experience and some knowledge of the rules of hockey. It’s not a qualification or a  course. Raising money for Children with Cancer and Belper Hockey Club

Tom Goodall raising £3,500 to support the charity Children with Cancer and Belper Hockey Club by running from Lands End to John O’Groats. Children with Cancer is the very worthy charity that Rat Race (the event organiser) are supporting but Tom also wants to help raise funds for Belper Hockey Club to help more kids get into the game. Kitchen/Bar refurb

We are planning to make some further alterations to the kitchen and storeroom this summer, to make it easier to serve food and drink at the same time. The current kitchen and storeroom will become a single space by removing part of the dividing wall, and creating a second servery hatch opening into the “Tennis” end. FLOOD AID DONATIONS

Belper Hockey Club reels after Floods – an appeal for help. On October 21st following Storm Babet the river Derwent flooded, covering our Astro pitch and watering system with 1.5 metres of water, mud, and debris. HOCKEY CLUB SOCIAL EVENING – Sat 30th Sept – QUIZ NIGHT!

The first HOCKEY CLUB SOCIAL EVENING of the season will be held on Saturday 30th September, 6.30pm for 7pm start, in the Clubhouse and will showcase the new NAILERS BAR. There will be two keg beers on tap…..and all the other usual offerings, plus entertainment and food….. Get your quiz team together…….and wear something silly on your head for extra point!!!! BAR TRAINING – Wed 20th Sept

Alex Wilbraham will be holding a training session for anyone (18+) who wants to be able to serve alcohol in the Clubhouse. DERWENT RIVER RELAYS

BMCSC is hosting the Derwent River Relays on 6th July, there will be some 200 runners plus supporters. This is a good event for the Sports Club as it raises money from people outside the Club and in so doing keeps Sports Section’s subs down.
