Report: Ladies 4th Team vs Ilkeston 1 – March 16, 2024

Ilkeston 2 – 1 Belper 4’s We turned up to play at Jules’ old secondary school although most if it was unrecognisable as it had been demolished and re-build! She did, however, discover that she has been at school with the groundsman although he was younger than her!👵🏼 One player went to the wrong ground but arrived  in time although we were delayed anyway as their umpire was working to an 11.30 start not the Read more…

Report: Ladies 4th Team vs Barton 1 – March 02, 2024

Barton 5 – 2 Belper 4’sThe day started badly with a total miscommunication between the ‘old girls’ resulting in Wendy being left at home eating her breakfast and the day didn’t get any better! The defence were then caught napping and found themselves 1-0 down in the 1st 5 minutes! There were moments of brilliance and moments of madness, unfortunately the latter outnumbered the former against a well drilled Barton side! Izzy, whizzy was kept very Read more…

Belper 4’s 3-2 Derby 2’sA fabulous sunny morning at the Meadows saw Belper 4’s take on Derby 2’s, a game set to be tough and physical with Belper seeking to overturn a frustrating loss to the visitors earlier in the season.Belper were in the game from the first whistle, creating lots of chances, moving the ball well. Report: Mens 8th Team vs Derwent Dev 4 – February 24, 2024

A game of hockey to make any captain proud! We passed the opposition out of the game. Moved the ball quickly into space, persisted in tackles never giving the opposition time to play and the result is a testament to that. The first goal a wibbly wobbly PC, a reward for some sustained pressure. The second a lightning counter attack through Tim, then Rufus who took the ball to the baseline before setting up Alan Read more…

Report: Ladies 4th Team vs Ashbourne 3 – February 10, 2024

On behalf of Rachel Turney The ladies 4s trip to Ashbourne on a grey but dry morning began with the pleasant sound of Harris arriving to offer encouragment from the sidelines and Kath losing the shackles from the Belper clubhouse to umpire!A great attacking first half performance saw fantastic running and passing and Evie opened the scoring from a short corner. Rachel nicked a deflection on Evie’s shot to make it 2. Another goal from Read more…

Report: Ladies 4th Team vs Ilkeston ladies 1 – January 06, 2024

Belper 4s V Ilkeston- 6th Jan 2024   A beautiful sunny, but cold, morning led to a longer than usual warm up in an attempt to defrost the recently flooded pitch enabling us to face the difficult Ilkeston side, only 2 points behind us in the league. Despite the Xmas food and the Xmas break making legs feel like lead, Wendy scored a lovely goal to put us in an early lead in 4 minutes. Read more…

The Belper Dev8s welcomed the North Notts development team for their second meeting of the season with memories of Alan’s 80th birthday cake still fresh in their minds. Belper Ladies 4 were away at Uttoxeter. We arrived in good time, but were unable to get in- had to make do with a 10 minute warm up😬 what a load of bull.
