Ben Mills – 1st overseas umpiring appointment

Congratulations to Ben Mills who was selected recently for his first overseas international umpiring appointment.  He has just returned from umpiring the Boys Under 18 – 4 Nations Invitation Tournament in Valencia, Spain. The tournament was over the Easter weekend 28 March to 2 April involving teams from Holland, Spain, Germany & England. He has umpired alongside the other young umpires from these countries. He has had a very good report from the Umpire Manager at the event.  

Belper U16 Girls at EH Regionals

  Belper U16 Girls travelled to Wolverhamton to take part in the EH Regional Indoor Finals on the 9th December.  The top two teams qualify for the national finals.   Belper got off to a flying start in the first game against Lichfield with Helena slotting the ball home within the first four minutes of the game.  Lichfield struck back almost immediately to level the game and went ahead scoring from a penalty corner.   At Read more…

Juniors at Futures Cup & HiPAC

Alex Robey represented Mercia Lynx at the 3 day U17 HiPAC at Leeds University. The HiPAC aims to give players in the U15 and U17 age groups first-hand experience of an international training camp environment, in preparation for potential future involvement in a National Age Group Squad (NAGS). Dominic Bennett (U16), Jacob Bullock, Toby Hooker, Ellie Miles and Kathryn Lane (all U18) have been taking part in the Futures Cup Tournaments at Cannock Hockey Club. Read more…
