The Belper Junior Boys Annual Presentation evening was held on Friday 17thMay. It was great to see so many there again this year.
A big thank you to all the players, parents, coaches and supporters who have all done so much this season without you all it wouldn’t have been possible.
In summary, this has been another hugely successful, but again expensive, season for the Boys Section.
Indoor:
The U18 and U16 teams have reached the National Indoor finals, played 27th April (U18 at Whitgift School, U16 at Aldersley). U18s missed out on a place in the semi finals on goal difference.
The U14s don’t have a competition at their age group but were able to enjoy the Indoor training sessions and learn the skills which will stand them in good stead for the future.
Outdoor:
The U18s reached the last 16 of the EH Cup.
The U16s reached the National Finals of the EH Championship, played at Wakefield on 13/14th April. They came runners up, for the second consecutive year.
The U14s reached the Regional Finals of their EH championships, played 14th April, but suffered having a small squad and no goalkeeper on the day!
The Section would like to express our thanks to Ben Lamb for all the hard work he has put in again this season, even when injured himself, and to Paul Cahill, Mark Minion and James Cozens for their coaching support.
Single System:
We encourage ALL our players to take part in Single System activities.
Last summer, 26 players were invited to train at Regional (JRPC) level, with 5 boys gaining higher honours.
