A big thank you to Belper Players & Helpers:

Thank you all for taking part in the tournament on Saturday and making it a successful day. Yet again we were blessed with fantastic weather!

PHOTOS FROM THE GALLERY

It was good to see some new faces, as well as some familiar ones. Great to see the Pink Panthers with their tails again – Maybe we do more fancy dress next year!

I hope you enjoyed the hockey, and felt there was plenty of it! It was rather hot and I was certainly flagging by the end of the day.

For anyone who is interested, the top places were as follows:

1st        Hockey Balboa

2nd       Derby 1s

3rd=     Pink Panthers, Belper Blues

I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who helped in any way – played,  helped to set up, clear away at the beginning and end of the day.

Special thanks to Becki for her help organising teams and the evening evening curries, with a view.

Thank you to Audra for running a tight ship to keep us to schedule, and expertly manning the control table. Special thanks also to Kath Clay (Matlock HC) for umpiring and helping to organise the umpire rota and record scoring – all invaluable help!

Many thanks to all who took a turn at umpiring – we can’t play without you.

A big thank you to all who donated cakes- There was a magnificent display.

To President and Mrs Ford, every present and willing, and with cakes to die for.

To Chris, and team for a long hot day of cakes and drinks sales.

Thank you Richard Taylor for supplying burgers and sausages, admired by all who sampled them!

And a very big thank you also to Nigel for his support in all things, as ever!

I hope everyone enjoyed the event. It was a good day for the Club, both in terms of hockey and socially, and we’ve raised some money (around £900) to put towards finishing touches to the new Pavilion (– maybe a biiiiiig TV?). I hope everyone took the opportunity to try out the balcony – its been a long time coming, but we’re nearly there.

Shall we do it all again next year?…….Shall we pencil in the first Saturday in August again??

Regards,

Judy

PS. A man’s wrist watch was found on the car park after the event. If anyone has lost one, please contact me with details.
