Barton 5 – 2 Belper 4’s
The day started badly with a total miscommunication between the ‘old girls’ resulting in Wendy being left at home eating her breakfast and the day didn’t get any better! The defence were then caught napping and found themselves 1-0 down in the 1st 5 minutes!
There were moments of brilliance and moments of madness, unfortunately the latter outnumbered the former against a well drilled Barton side! Izzy, whizzy was kept very busy!
The 2nd half proved much better resulting in a pass from Kitty which found Sally (we think!) for a goal! The defence will take an assist for the 2nd goal after the ball was passed to Lizzie who moved it on quickly to Sally who again found the goal! Sadly, Jules was so far up the pitch she ended up on her knees due to lack of oxygen!!!
The whole squad will probably admit it was disappointing performance after the last few weeks but we battled until the end! On a positive note the chips and pasties were very tasty!
